What is a Double Grade Distinction Distinction?

I have just received my BTEC Level 3 Diploma for college in interactive media. When i look up 'what is a double grade distinction distinction' i see these letters such as DDD, DDM, DMM, MMM etc. Which one is mine please and is my result good?

Hi there :wavey:

thise grades like DDM, D*DD, DDD etc are for the Extended Diploma which is worth 3 A levels, thus 3 grades

your Diploma is worth 2 A levels and that is why you have 2 grades

BTEC diploma with Dist/Dist grades is equal to AA in 2 A levels and is worth 240 UCAS points

Hope this helps

I agree with yt7777, I've just completed 2 Double BTEC Diplomas each 12 Units :smile:
D*,D* = A*,A* = 280 ucas points
D*,D = A*,A = 260 ucas points
D,D = A,A = 240 ucas points
D,M = A,B = 200 ucas points
M,M = B,B = 160 ucas points
M,P = B,C = 120 ucas points
P,P = C,C = 80 ucas points

Yeah, it's equal to 2 A-levels because it's a Btec and you get twice as many ucas points as an A-level for what ever grade you obtain.

Right on everything else except the A level equivalency

D*D* = A*A* =280
D*D = A*A =260
DD = AA =240
DM = BB = 200
MM = CC = 160
MP = DD = 120
PP = EE = 80

Thanks for the correction looks much better now haha
I got the same double grade distinction, it means that you’ve got the highest grades possible. Because if you look at your marks beside the grade(d,m,p) it’ll say either 5.0 or 10.0 if you have all 10.0 bar 2 5.0s then you’ve a hive every single mark within that assignment

D*D* is the highest grade for the BTEC Diploma.

it goes:

D*D* (highest grade)
D*D
DD (your grade - double distinction)
...
...
PP (lowest grade)
A double distinction is two A's as my daughter got the btec grad destination, distinction merit. You should be very proud you have done really well
i got a double grade distinction merit on my first year what does this mean? in terms of the letters
I do BTEC: Health & Social Care Level 3 - National Extended Diploma
What grade would I get?
Unit 1: P
Unit 2: P
Unit 5: D (All unit 5 assignments I got D)
Unit 7: (I did it during the lockdown and it would be used to centre-assessed my grade with other work - I think I got a D for the first assignment) (Not doing the second assignment)
Unit 10: M for first time then got D for resubmission for assignment 1 (Assignment 2 first time didn't get a grade but during lockdown we were told not to make any improvements since we are going to do new work that would be centre-assessed)
Unit 19: (Handed it in start of lockdown but didn't get a reply by my teacher for the grade) (Not doing assignment 2)

New work - To be centre-assessed mainly on Unit 17 & Unit 4

Is it bad what I got???
I feel like I'm getting a DM
