How much do I need for 1 year at Uni

How much maintenance loan do you get?
How much money do you already have saved?
Will you be getting a job in london/ plan to?

How much will your accommodation cost?
Will you need to use public transport/ how much will it cost?
Do you have a specific diet that makes food more expensive for you?
Do you have any course specific costs? (e.g art supplies ect)
Do you have any specific personal costs you can't let go of?
Will you be going home often and is travel home expensive?
Do you plan to go out a lot?/ drink?
Do you have hobbies that cost money?

We cannot pick a figure out of thin air and apply it to you. What is enough for one person won't necessarily be enough for another.

I have 11k saved + 4k maintenance loan
My accommodation is 7k
So im just gonna hope 8k is enough

My accommodation rent will be approx £5789
I will get approx 4000 summt from the NHS bursary, and 2000 summt for maintenance loan.

How can I survive with only £1000 a year

6k-£5789 is a lot less than 1k have you written that right?

Well if you have £1k (with a 52 week year) that leaves you with £19 a week, which is enough for food...but basically nothing else.

Also the student finance calculator even for NHS courses seems to have the maintenance loan at £3821 as the absolute minimum, are you sure you only get 2k? that doesn't sound right.

Will your family be giving you any contributions?

Does your university offer any bursaries as well?

You should get a student account with an overdraft for emergencies.

If I recall correctly NHS students get extra funding towards travel costs on placements? So you should be okay for placement travel.

I'd also personally try to find a cheaper accommodation if possible, if money really is that desperate you shouldn't be going into uni accommodation instead seek private it's usually much cheaper.

Get a job over the summer and save up every penny.

I'm not sure what course you are doing but if you have any terms that don't have placements in hospital get a part time job (working for the uni is usually great and very flexible for extra income).

You get less maintenence loan if you get Nhs bursary.

I doubt I'd get a job during summer

I don't think parents are ganna contribute

The cheapest accommodation are the ones you share a shower, and you get meals mon to Friday. But I want an en suite
