Banking Apprenticeship vs Uni

for a banking(pensions/insurance) career- can an apprenticeship be better than a degree?

Depends what you're after.. Do you see yourself being happy as a banker? What degrees are you considering? Have you got work experience in those fields?

I've done work experience at a big 4 accounting firm for a month.
I have degree offers for Business Management at Edinburgh and Edinburgh Napier

Apprenticeships are a nice way in. You gain experience, qualifications and a wage, whilst other people are just gaining qualifications. You're educated in a way the company desire, and you're networked which gives you a slight edge. I'd say once you're out the other side of the apprenticeship, you're equally in a promotion race with the grads.
