It's only awkward really if you don't know him and you're just popping up like "hey I like you" out of no wear. Just say what you were going to say and add "do you want to go out for drink/lunch whatever" since its 8 weeks
He definitely knows who I am we have had a short conversation before. We also make a lot of eye contact every time we see eachother!
