Parents not allowing me to go to uni

Hi there! Hope everyone is well. Just need some help. Parents have supported me with my uni loan application but have now said they are not allowing me to go to uni. I am 18 but living with them. What do I do? Anyone...

Why are they saying you can't go? You're adult; so they can't really stop you.

I would suggest you talk to them about what it is that's bothering them. Try to assuage them that you can take care of yourself and will act in a responsible manner and keep in touch. They might be anxious about letting you go off on your own or some recent events may have them thinking that you cannot be trusted. Talk to them calmly and persuade them that this is the best option.

If they resist, ask them to present alternatives to going to uni, and then discuss why they won't work. You need to convince them that if they do not support your education, you will lose out on a good future.

Can I ask why they've suddenly changed their minds about this?
