Hi there,
Im planning on studying vet physio in 2017.. Im currently struggling to write my personal statement, im doing an access diploma in science at the moment to get the grades i need to get in... None of my lecturers or fellow students have ever even heard of it so i dont have much support or advice around me!
Hi, I'm applying for Vet Phys at Writtle and Warwickshire. Would have applied at Harper if they had more equine based equipment! Also looking at Animal Therapy at Writtle and an Equine Sports & Rehabilitation course. I like Writtle . Where are you hoping to go to?

I'm applying for all three, for some reason harper Adams really appeals to me, probably because of its good reputation but I've seen a lot of people saying the same thing about it not being very equine orientated, I had thought it was kind of general and you could then choose which path you'd like
t take, the whole thing is confusing me to be honest haha! e
I really liked Harper when I looked around but Writtle gave me a really good feeling. The course is general to start with but then in the third year you can specialise into equine or canine if that helps your confusion?

Hi  yeah, I know what you mean about Harper (and I am slightly more equine-focused!) but I went to their open day and just loved it so I think that'll still be my top choice. Also applying to Writtle for vet phys, (I loved in there too but sooo far away for me!), moreton morrell for vet phys and the equine therapy &rehabilitation, and bishop burton for equine therapy &rehab. Do you have any offers or anything yet?

I know what you mean. I think it's because it's quite a new course, none of my teachers had really heard of it so I didn't get that much advice either! Good luck in writing your personal statement

Not yet, I've completed my application a few days ago and sent it on to my tutor to fill a reference for me so should hopefully be fully done in the next couple of days! I am hoping to get offers from them all but I'll have to wait and see

Thats brill well done! I'm sure you'll do well! I'm doing an extended diploma BTEC in horse management as they look more into the rehab/therapy side than a-levels do. What are you doing?

Aw thank you I hope so, you too ah I'm jealous that sounds really good / relatable to what we want to do - I'm doing A levels and they're so hard and very boring :/ can't wait to finish school and start doing more hands on stuff rather than constant study!

Yeah it is really good, helps to switch up from note taking all the time!
Just out of curiosity, how long did you have to wait to hear from your choices after submitting your p.s.?

 I think it was at least a couple of weeks before I heard anything. And that's just for an interview! Also not heard anything from Harper yet. It's nerve racking but exciting

I can't deal with this waiting malarkey it's horrible! On the plus side I've received a conditional from Nottingham which they'll turn to unconditional if I'll accept them, so I'm happy about that
Any news from Harper yet?

Thanks! It's the Equine Sports Science course
That's great well done!! I think that's a good idea because it'll show them that you're taking an interest in their course.

Ah that sounds good - I did look at the equine psychology and sports science course there but decided it wasn't for me. Yeah, good point, hopefully it'll help
Hey girls what work experience did you all have before applying? Just out of interest!

I've gained experience with dogs, cats, horses and cows. I've worked at riding yards, charity centres, kennels/catteries, animal hospitals (large & small) etc. etc. (The list is really long but it really puts an impact on my CV
What experience have you had?

I have years of working with horses and running yards, horse qualifications and always owned dogs but currently trying to get some official work experience, hopefully at a local kennel
