Level 2 equal what?

Hi, I'm a 22 year old male, from England. I sat my GCSE exams back in 2009 but due to missing a lot of school I only managed to get a D in English and a C in maths.

In 2010, I sat level 2 adult numeracy and literacy exams; I was just wondering what are they equivalent to & should I do my GCSE agains or not? Any advice would be helpful, thanks in advance!

Level 2 qualifications are the equivalent to a GCSE A*-C.
It really depends what you want to do.

Would possible employers in the future see a level 2 as less than a GCSE, as they aren't the full thing I suppose even though they are equivalent.

It's possible - if they specify that the role requires Maths and English GCSEs they shouldn't be able to reject your application because your qualifications aren't GCSEs per se, but you never can tell, especially if other applicants do have them. If you're going to be studying other GCSEs too it might be worth thinking about re-sitting your English and Maths at the same time.
