Studying Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering with BTEC...

So, I'm currently in Year 13 and have sent my UCAS applications off quite early. I've applied to study either mechanical/aerospace engineering BEng at the following; Leeds, UniOfBirmingham, UniOfNottingham, UniOfSheffield and Lancaster.

I'm predicted D*D*D* in an Engineering extended diploma (18 unit) BTEC and an A in A-level maths. The grade requirements for most russell group uni's are D*DD and a B in maths so I'm fairly confident i'll get a few offers as I've also done quite a bit of work experience at Rolls-Royce and engineering trips abroad etc.

Just wondering what other people are applying with to study Aerospace/Mechanical engineering and if anyone else is applying having done a BTEC. Also, if anyone is currently studying at uni and could give me some advice on the application process, interviews and what to expect?

Cheers
