Maintenance loan while on placement year
Hi,
My girlfriend is looking into doing a placement year for her third year of her course. She is currently in her second year doing Psychology at a university in Northern Ireland. We have been looking for potential placements for her to apply to, but many we have found seem to be unpaid. So my question is, if she was to get unpaid placement work, will she be receiving a maintenance loan from Student Finance NI? If so, how much would she receive? If not, are there other possible funding options for it?or should we just not go for unpaid placement years? Placement may not be in Northern Ireland, it may be elsewhere in the UK, would that make a difference? Thank you for any help!
