Help! Struggling with psychology degree already

I'm finding my stats class in psychology really difficult especially when using excel. Does anyone know any good websites or books or anything at all that is good at explaining stats? (I'm in 1st yr btw) Especially since maths isn't my strong point.

Don't worry about it too much, with practice anyone can do statistics, although the maths is a little offputting at first its definitely not beyond anyone's understanding. Learning SPSS and excel is really about following instructions - if you can follow a recipe you can get a first in statistics psychology courses.

If you need help with basic concepts, this site is usually quite good.

Alternatively, if you'd rather work from a book, I liked using this one, and is helpful if you need to do calculations by hand : https://www.amazon.co.uk/Statistics-Behavioral-International-Frederick-Gravetter/dp/1111839557/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479577599&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=gravatter+statistics
I would work through the first Part of this book as you should know how to calculate the mean and variance by hand, and the book explains the basic concepts quite well! The further parts of the book also explain how to calculate various statistical tests by hand- but it sometimes isn't necessary for some courses.

I personally learned alot from working through the andy field textbook. Just work through the exercises one chapter a week and you'll be awesome at SPSS. https://www.amazon.co.uk/DISCOVERING-STATISTICS-USING-IBM-SPSS/dp/1446249182/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1479577421&sr=8-1&keywords=andy+field

I'm not really sure about excel help - its something that we covered in year 7 in school :P Because its so ubiqutous there is tonnes of stuff on youtube about excel.
