Make friends by becoming a buddy
A big worry when starting uni is making friends. It can be hard. So here's an idea - become a buddy. A couple of buddy schemes at Oxford Brookes, for example, are:
Global Buddies: current UK students pair up with new international students helping them settle into life in the UK. Apart from being great fun, you get to make friends from around the world and gain an understanding of different cultures.
LGBTQ+ Buddies: a way for freshers to find a buddy to go to events with, because sometimes it can be scary going to new places alone. Check out the Facebook page here.
