Health Insurance
I was wondering if anyone else had gone through this and done any research i could piggyback :-).
I'm heading to UC Berkeley for an exchange year in a few weeks. I'm looking at health insurance plans. I'm paying the SHIP (student health insurance plan) that berkeley puts togetgher, but from what I can tell this covers me solely whilst I'm doing my "student thing". I.e., just on campus, to and from, and for related things.
So if I were to take a trip to the rockies to ski, I wouldn't be covered. If I were to drive down to santa barbara to surf, I wouldn't be covered.
What would I best do about getting insurance for this? Is there anyone designed for this kinda thing?

To be honest, I wouldn't worry about a couple of weeks in a gray area. Worst comes to worst, emergency care is covered by the state. If you are going on specific, organized tours or the like however they may either offer their own plans or likewise be better placed to answer your question.
