Is it hard to get halal foods around the campus?
How much do students spent on average for groceries?
Is there like a list of how much do students spent per month and on what items do they spend it on?
Thank you

I have heard the meat in the Bread Oven (sandwich shop on campus) and the Dirty Duck (pub on campus) is halal. There might be halal food available at Rootes Grocery but there's definitely halal food available at Tescos, where most students living on campus do their shopping. (Rootes Grocery tends to be expensive and only if you run out of something or want lunch quickly) As to the various pop-up vendors (including the food market), I'm not sure sorry.

I'm not sure, I only bought ready-meals lol. You can get frozen ones for quite cheap. (<£2 at tescos, some <£1) I'm sure if you buy fresh you'll be able to spend much less than I did.

It really depends on your spending habits! A lot of money is spent on alcohol by some students, so those who don't drink will probably spend fairly less. You can get accommodation for £350-450ish a month on the cheaper end. (or £300 if you want to go Whitefields)

For accounting and finance, what are the best modules and subjects combination?
If I want to study CFAB-ICAEW after my accounting degree, what are the preparations needed? Also, as someone who is not from the UK, is it difficult to get a job there?

Modules as in within the degree?

In terms of subject combination, as long as you have alevel maths or IB higher maths you should be alright. (it seems FM is also a common option since it's mentioned in entry requirements)

Yup, modules as in within the degree

Unfortunately some departments have less helpful catalogues than others (as there's no central one), and unfortunately WBS's is a bit scarce.

You can see the module listing here. I don't do A&F so I wouldn't know what the "best" options are - just pick whatever intersts you and you feel you can do well in.
Hi, can you tell me more about your daily schedule?
As in how long are the classes, what do you usually do during your free time and weekends, etc

Whitefields is pretty cheap. It generally has a bad rep, often jokingly referred to replacing the W at the beginning with an S, but honestly doesn't seem that bad.

They're like small "houses" (I'm not sure what else to call them) at the back of Rootes. 12 rooms, one kitchen per house and 2 bathrooms. There's a communal area too, which other accommodations in that price bracket definitely don't have. It is quite an intimate fit, and the rooms/facilities do seem a bit small but it'll do the job if you're on a budget, I'm sure. You can see more pics and do a virtual tour of one of the houses here.

First year has been decent. The university community is very nice. (and very diverse!)

Very diverse? The place is full of Chinese and Indians who seldom integrate with others outside of their tight knit groups.

that does happen but considering the number of active societies tied to a country of origin, I'd still say the student body is diverse.

I was slightly overcatted - on 132 cats and I had about 15 contact hours per week in term 2 and like 20ish term 1. Most days had no more than around 4 contact hours, but some you can have up to 7. When I woke up and ate fit around what I had to do that day, so I can't really give you a uniform schedule.

Lectures are usually 50 minutes. They will be advertised as starting at :00, but will start at :05, and end at :55 to give you 10 minutes to get to your next lecture. (you shouldn't have to go far for maths, the worst would be say L3 to Zeeman or Occulus to Zeeman) I think seminars and other events at the university are supposed to fit these but it's a lot less rigid.

There's plenty of societies, communal spaces (eg. common room for your subject) that you can hang out and have lunch in. At night there's plenty of stuff going on on campus (copper rooms, tbar, etc.), and plenty of local clubs. If that's not your scene - societies run events like gaming nights too. (Nintendo society had a few per week) [random factlet about this - Warwick is top of the country in esports so a lot of the teams are very strong]
Hi, I still haven’t decided on which type of accommodation that I want. Can I apply for uni accommodation and reject it if I found other off-campus accommodation?
Which sim card is the best in the UK in terms of data plans, speed and coverage?

Yes, I know someone who did this. You do not have to accept the accommodation offer they give you.

I'm on pay as you go so I don't know, you'd have to ask on a more specialist subforum!

If you dont get the accommodation you want can you reallocate after moving in, like is there a waiting list or any swaps done?

Yup! There are two ways you can do this.

You can apply for transfer - you will have to complete a form linked here. (though only students can see it, so you won't be able to access it) I think the form opens a few weeks into term. Note that this isn't guaranteed, and I'd imagine hinges on people dropping out/other people wanting to transfer. There's a small admin fee that'll be tagged onto accommodation fees.

Alternatively, you can perform a swap/exchange. If you can find a student willing to swap rooms with you, (soon after allocations, you will find students disappointed with their allocation posting on facebook groups and TSR) you can send an email to the allocations team with your names/id numbers/room numbers to see if you can swap. [exact details can be found on locked portions of the website] I'm not sure under what circumstance they'd say no. Again there's a small fee.

Don't be too quick though, there are some people who get their 4th-6th choice and end up enjoying it!

Hi, I was just wondering what the political atmosphere is like on campus, does it tend to lean one way and are people generally accepting of alternative views? I’ve insured Warwick and just want to be prepared for any hostility.

I'm not a person that really politicises things so I have no idea where pretty much anyone leans politically, it just doesn't come up.

If I were to guess, I would think there's a mix since both the labour and conservative societies are pretty active.
