Which UoA is your interview for? They’re all quite different! I mostly practiced going through the A-E assessment of various acute presentations, formulating answers to typical interview questions like why SFP, why this place tell me about a time you worked well in a team etc. And for the academic side just made sure I had a good understanding of critical appraisal, statistical tests and the pros and cons of different types of study

That’s essentially what I did too. I think feeling comfortable with a range of A-Es, and being aware of current issues in medicine and stuff is also super helpful!

Yorkshire, I have an academic and a clinical station, but I have no idea about how the academic station will be like (CV vs critical appraisal)

Every guide I’ve seen so far gives the impression it’s discussing a critical appraisal of a paper, maybe a few questions about research like defining P values and stuff and maybe talking a bit about any research you might have done. However, I don’t know if that’s what will actually go down

My application for WestMids has updated to Interview but I’ve not had an email through? Is there a chance it’s a mistake or just might have updated early?

Hi everyone! I have always wondered to what extend SFP take one's decile into account after the initial shortlisting. I'm particularly interested in the Cambridge SFP - any info would be greatly appreciated!

I have no idea how to feel about it. It was such a strange interview! They seemed kind though
East Midlands LNR/Trent rankings are out! Bit of an odd thing to release the rankings the day before offers. Not sure if my rank would mean an offer or not!

Oooh that is a bit odd. Do you know how many people get interviews and the number of jobs? That may be helpful

So there are 51 jobs but 3 are Psychiatry specific so 48 jobs in total. I'm not sure how many were interviewed unfortunately :/ But I am guessing that the ranks are out of everyone interviewed but East Midlands will only consider you for your preference so Research, Education or Leadership. So Im guessing if youre rank 20 but the 6 education posts have already been filled, then you don't get an offer even though you are high up the ranks!

I see.. well best of luck, you never know because so much of it depends on how everyone else ranked their preferences! Fingers crossed and good luck for tomorrow
