Degree with Foundation Year

Thinking about applying for University?

The Degree with Foundation Year is a great opportunity if you have the ability and enthusiasm to study for a degree, but do not yet have the qualifications required to enter directly onto our degree programmes.

A significant part of our Degree with Foundation Year focuses upon core skills such as academic writing at HE level, becoming an independent learner, structuring academic work, critical thinking, time management and note taking.

You can check out the list of courses offered here: https://www.hope.ac.uk/undergraduate/degreewithfoundationyear/degreewithfoundationyeara-z/

Please let us know if you have any questions!

Hi Aufbau,

Thank you for your question, I'm sure a lot of people have a similar thought.

There is nothing better than researching the pros and cons for yourself.

You can think of things like;

Do you want to stay at home?
How much is the upfront cost?
How relevant is it for your degree?
How many UCAS points do you have?
What skills will you learn on the course?

A significant part of our Degree with Foundation Year focuses upon core skills such as academic writing at HE level, becoming an independent learner, structuring academic work, critical thinking, time management and note-taking. This is to help you become the best HE student you can be.

You then get to be in a University environment while you are in your foundation year along with other people in their first year of study.

You can find more information on our foundation years at https://www.hope.ac.uk/foundationyearhopepark/
