What is the benefit of choosing a firm early?

1.) Do Universities find out when you choose them as a firm>?

2.)Is there any possible advantage? Even 0.01% advantage, lets say after your 100% sure you want to attend that University?

1) Yes.
2) The only advantage I can think of to choosing a firm early is being able to get your application in for accommodation early. But this only matters if a) you can apply that early, b) you want uni accommodation and c) they assign on first come, first serve so you'd be more likely to get first choice.
