The Student Room Group

On TSR for 10 years, AMA

Just received a Level 5 One of Us badge - I've been here for ten years! :woo: :clap2: :woo:

Well, not all the time continuously, but a fair bit. :colondollar:

I might be classed as an old timer now, which is kind of nice but also hits me with waves of nostalgia. :cry2:

On the other hand, it's still fun. :excited:

Pose your questions. :yep: :cookie:

How did you come up with the name "full of surprises"?

What's the best pun that you've heard of (TSR or IRL).
I saw your tag and was confused

Mainly the money.

Apart from that, it's the cool atmosphere and high quality political discussion.

I think I was watching a TV show at the time when I was first signing in to post on the cars threads, someone on the show said "you're full of surprises". I really can't remember what show it was now though.

Pretty much any day of the week check out Bear's pun threads and see real classics in them. :adore:

It can be a lot of fun, there are some talented and witty people on it. I found it genuinely useful at times when asking a practical question, especially about tech issues, travel, money and work things. It wasn't so helpful for me around study things but I know it is for shedloads of people.

I think there needs to probably be areas on it that are user-identified and more protected. For example, it's awash with racism and misogyny at times and although the mods do their best to remove, it's a request system - the issue as with most social media is anonymising, which facilitates bad behaviour. With some private or more controlled areas, it could gain real strength as a large scale collaboration area. Alas, this is probably against the ad-driven model.

I've had some absolutely amazing pasta in restaurants in different places. I'm just remembering an incredible one in Naples. It was to die for.

Hi Perse, thanks! :hugs:

Has to be Take a Chance on Me - the voice combinations are just brilliant and it's an amazing song, so upbeat and optimistic. Also of course it has those great sweaters and amazing filmic values.
We’ve never spoken, but congrats! :congrats: It’s nice to meet you! :woo: Since I’m pretty new here, what’s something you think all newbies should know?
