You can do. I sent out applications for my masters last year for universities and two out of three got back to me in two weeks but the one I wanted to attend got to three weeks before I emailed them and explained the situation where they needed to get back to me within a week or risk losing my spot.
They got back to me with an acceptance offer the day after.
It can’t hurt to chase it up. 🙂
