Top Tips for Looking After Your Mental Health at University

Hi everyone

With University Mental Health Day coming up on March 9th we wanted to share some of our top tips for looking after your mental health as a university student!

5 top tips for looking after your mental health as a university student.

1.

Find time for yourself: University can be a busy and overwhelming time, so it is important to make sure you are taking time to do activities you enjoy, such as reading, listening to music, or going for a walk.

2.

Talk to someone: If you’re feeling overwhelmed it is important to talk to a professional or a friend. It is always helpful to have someone to talk to about how you are feeling.

3.

Get organised: Have a plan for how you will manage your workload and stick to it. This will help you to stay on top of your studies and will give you a sense of control.

4.

Take care of your physical health: Make sure you are eating healthy, getting enough sleep and taking part in physical activity. This will help to keep your energy levels up.

5.

Reach out for help: If you are struggling, don’t be afraid to reach out for help. Many universities offer counselling, mentoring, and support services which can be a great way to get the help you need.

Can you think of any others that have worked for you?
