The Student Room Group

Why is renting so expensive

It is crazy renting, I am paying 700 a month just for a room

Will anything change in the future?

No

And when you leave University you wont have a student loan to put towards it either, you will need to net that much income before all your other monthly bills. Its tough out there.

That's why the average age to leave home in the UK is 27, there is a high number well into their mid 30's

Good luck

Yes, if you shop around or look to live more cheaply and commute.
Breathing is expensive nowadays
Im paying 1000+ for a room in London as a student🥲 the living price is CRAZY
Yes, the prices for renting are stupid.
I dont rent myself, but im glad i brought mine (and saved up a big deposit). The rent on mine would be 600-650 a month. I currently pay around £299 mortgage.
Is that including bills?
The country is in the toilet, you must have noticed.

The OP has been 'playing pretend' consistently for over five years. I personally doubt they are playing pretend. Unless you mean the bit about them being 30, yeah that's fake news, they aren't quite that young.
