Need based scholarships in UCL - how does it work?

Enquiring about this one in particular:

How much of talking about the programme I hold an offer to should come in the essay? This is need-based, the expectation is to talk about the financial situation right? Why I chose the course, what will I do with it down the line, points like these were already addressed in the personal statement, no?

Hi, you're right about focusing more on the financial aspects since this is a need-based scholarship. When you log in to the online form, you will be asked about your financial situation through a number of questions that focus on your household income, family situation, socio-economic condition, schooling environment etc. You will also be provided with a space to elaborate on some of these aspects. If you think blending this information with your future goals and how this course might help you with that will benefit your application, you might as well do that but please ensure that you focus more on the financial situation taking into account the country you belong to. Hope this is helpful!
