Should I study an AS or A Level privately?

I'm a college student studying a UAL diploma but I kinda want another qualification that's more academic when I apply to uni.So what are my options? Should I study a private AS Level with a tutor next year? Should I wait another year and study a separate A Level? Should I complete an EPQ? My college doesn't really have these options itself so everything would be private.
It depends on what you want to study at uni and the qualifications you have already/will have. Can you give some more detail?

I am studying a UAL diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology, which becomes Extended next year. If I get a merit, this should provide enough UCAS Tariff points to get me into most unis. However, it limits me a lot to the creative (practical) industry, when honestly, I've discovered this year that I'm an academic. I'm still interested in Creative Industry, but I miss studying Geography or Spanish at GCSE, which I got 9s in for both. Therefore I'm also considering Culture or Media studies, though I'm really confused. Any advice? :')

I would advise you to look at some courses on uni websites that you might be interested in and then look at the 'Entry requirements' section. Some courses require specific subjects, other don't. By doing this you will get an idea if you need to complete extra qualifications or not. If you find that you do need additional qualification, an Access to Higher Education Diploma might be a better option than A levels. There are fees involved but loans are available. They often don't really even mention options other than A Levels or BTECs which does make me nervous, especially if I consider an option further from the practical aspect that the diploma is focused on. The Access diploma is an option but I'm really averse to starting uni a year later as I want my independence as soon as possible, and I'd have to study that at my college after I finish the UAL diploma. I'm still really uncertain about what courses I even want to take, as I'd ideally like something that includes both practical and academic, but I have no clue how to find this.
