Contact local companies to see if they can offer anything. Also check out your local council too - they often also have civil engineering related roles.

The best way to get some experience would probably just to have a look around online! Here are some websites which may have student experience opportunities to have a look into. Alternatively, some companies offer work experience if you contact them, so have a look around your area and maybe reach out through email.
