Be yourself man.
Don’t stress it too much, worst you’ll get is a no. And hey, if it gets too much, just act like you don’t speak English.
Literally just be yourself. To get to know someone just ask casual questions. What you listed is perfect. Perhaps, save the shallow, deep topics for when you have gotten to know them a bit more so you're both comfortable with each other and the topic.
