University of Edinburgh Accommodation

I'm currently deciding my insurance choice for uni, and I noticed that Edinburgh only guarantees double rooms for students who put it as their insurance. Does anyone know how likely it is for me to be able to get a single room if I end up going there?

1. wouldn't pay the money for that
2. wouldn't risk Edinburgh as insurance
