The Student Room Group

Financially independent

Hi,
I'm applying for my loan for my second year starting in sept 23.
I was wondering, because I worked full time for 3+ years before I started university, would I be eligible to apply as an independent student? I'm 23 so wouldn't automatically get it, but I read that because I worked for 36 months I could try and apply.

I still lived with my parents whilst I worked but it was full time and they gave me no money.
If I can apply as an independent student, how do I do it?

Thanks, Eve

Hi there, you can upload a cover letter requesting to be assessed as an Independent Student along with evidence for 3 years/36 months for the team to review. You can find out more information about the evidence required here: https://www.ucas.com/finance/student-finance-england/finance-independent-students

Thanks, Karen

Thank you so much!
I'm a bit confused on how I send the evidence to SFE?
