Gov't literally already responded to say that they would be 'fair' and will 'allow for disruption'. This seems good enough for most people.
However, COVID should not just be a blanket excuse to push for lenient grading, especially now after most disruption has stopped and the current GCSE/A-Level 2 year classes haven't even had an extended lockdown period during their course.
What do you think will happen in Parliament? They will push the 'fairness' line and the Education Secretary, who makes these big decisions, is in a party with a majority so will quickly veto something like this as she has already made a decision on the matter. If grade boundaries are kept artificially low for extended periods without much good reason, it won't look good for the country.
