Do you mean getting an aspirational offer with lower predicted grades or missing the offer conditions on results day?
Which course are you asking about?
Sheffield (and Newcastle) were in clearing with hundreds of seats on courses. During clearing they may be willing to accept people with lower grades. If you haven't secured a place at uni, wait until clearing and then check out the options. Dependent on your A levels some courses may be closed to you e.g. languages if you don't have an A level in the language.
