Year 11 Final Day Prank

My brother set off fireworks in the school car park during todays physics exam (last 10 minutes)
I know its awful, and i'm not trying to defend any of it but his friend (and presumably him soon) parents have had a phone call to say that they "won't get any GCSEs", is this true/possible?

Why would he have done it during the exam?? I'm pretty sure disturbances during exams do qualify for disqualification, and he's gone and set off literal fireworks. Not only could that disqualify him, but also completely messes up grades for everyone else taking the exam...So yes, very possible. Had he done it several hours after the exam or on another day, he might've got away with it after a stern talking to, but not this.
