Switching from Open Uni to a brick university

How should I go about doing what the title says?

Do I need to first let the Open Uni know what my plans are before I'm able to switch?

Would not letting them know make it so that I can't be accepted into the new uni, even if I'm currently waiting for the second year of the course to start?

Is it possible to get a certificate from the Open Uni after having completed the first year of the 3 year course with them, to be able to use it as additional education proof?

And would doing so allow me to start the new course on the 2nd year, since I've already finished a year of study on a similar course with the Open Uni?

Also, having misplaced my GCSE results, how could I go about getting a replacement/statement of results?
So far I've tried emailing the school I sat the exams in, and making an application to AQA for a statement of results, which I was told can take up to 20 days or more to process.

When applying to a course with a placement year, is it a good idea to make an additional choice on UCAS of the same course, without the placement year, in case I don't get accepted into the former?

Could you give a bit of detail about what you want to study, why, your age and previous qualifications?

I'm in the process of applying to a cyber security course from Anglia Ruskin Uni, and I've finished the first year of the Computing and IT course with Open Uni. I prefer studying something more specialised rather than a something that covers a broad range of surface level subjects. I've got an extended btec diploma in Engineering so I'm not sure how that'll apply to the requirements of having A- levels in "relevant subjects".
1) you don't have to notify OU that you plan to transfer but you would need to tell your tutor if you want them to provide an academic reference (which would likely be required for entry into Year 2)
2) Applying elsewhere doesn't withdraw you from your current course at OU. Only following the formal process to withdraw from OU would withdraw you from the course.
3) In theory yes - however if you have a formal qualification from part time (which OU classes as) study then your previous study at OU will be taken away from your full time funding allocation. So if you studied with OU for 2 years and were awarded a CertHE then you wouldn't be eligible for a tuition fee loan for year 1 of a full time degree at ARU.
4) See above re the funding implications. I would personally hold off requesting formal certification of your OU study until you are 100% sure that you have an offer for entry into Year 2 of a new degree.
5) You don't need proof of GCSE results to apply through UCAS - although providing proof might be a requirement to meet the conditions of an offer or to enrol.

Have you put in a UCAS application to ARU yet for year 2 entry?

Haven't sent the application yet; got some details left to check and fill in, like the personal statement

Transfer applications take longer to process than year 1 entry applications - you've got just over 3 weeks for universities to make a decision from today. You should priorities getting a UCAS application submitted today or tomorrow. Have you spoken to someone at OU to provide you with an academic reference?

No I haven't. Could I apply to course for a year 2 entry, and also make another choice for the same course, but with a year 1 entry, in case year 2 entry doesn't get accepted? Does the choice of a placement year affect processing times?

Here's what I thought about doing;

Cyber security course, with placement year, year 2 entry
Same course, no placement year, year 1 entry
