Funding for a PG Dip in Social Work?

I am really keen to do the above course with the OU - it is the only way I can advance my career. However, the course fees are over £8K and my employer won't sponsor me. I wouldn't be eligible for the Social Work bursary as I'd still be working and I wouldn't be eligible for a Postgraduate loan as I'm not doing an MA or PhD. Does anyone know of any other help with funding for this? Charities or similar? And if anyone else has self funded, how did you do this?
