Is Cavendish a good halls for a first year male student studying maths?
Cavendish is a bit of a walk away from where most maths lectures are (not that long, really. It's roughly a 15-minute walk).
Is that necessarily a bad thing? I actually find the walk to be quite pleasant. But of course that means you do need to wake up early for the 9am lectures!
I can't comment on the social aspect, but surely everyone can find friends somewhere if they try, not just within halls.
