Still do advanced highers if failed the higher?

Can I still do an advanced higher if I failed the higher exam?
I want to do physics and did well during the year but when the exam came I ran out of time because of my anxiety and am pretty sure I failed it.
I am confident that I can achieve the advanced higher (with extra time in exams from now on) so if I explain this to my school do you think they’ll let me do it?

Hi @helpp pls,
Each school is different and so it will be at their discretion. The best thing to do, after you get your results back, is get in touch with your school (the department, your tutor/guidance teacher) and talk to them about it.
One thing that may be worth having a look if you are interested in further study is if you require highers or advanced highers.
Best of luck with results day and with your final year.
