How competitive is KCL?

I know it's Russel Group, but how does its competitiveness compare to universities like UCL/Bristol/LSE? How low is its offer rate? I'm thinking of applying for History, and on the Admissions Report website the offer rate for History seems extremely high, but other statistics I saw online said its acceptance rate is 10-25%, which is similar to Oxbridge. I'm so confused.

Published stats are very misunderstood as they normally show the applicants to places, rather that applicants to offers. You have 5 choices, and you only go to 1 uni, so you wouldn't expect anywhere to have an "applicants to places" acceptance rate of more than about 20%.

For it to be meaningful, you would need to find the applicants to offers rate for KCL.

KCL often use history as an "alternative offer" for applicants to oversubscribed courses such as IR, so it can't be overly competitive.

For History, you need to look very carefully at the course content - there is no universal degree syllabus, and each degree will have a different 'flavour' depending on the specialism and staff interests at each Uni.

You cannot make this choice by just looking at 'the Uni' and 'how competitive it might be' - you need to go to Open Days and listen very carefully to the subject presentations to have any idea of the difference between the degrees.
