Islamic Advice Please

I know a friend who has recently reverted and I really want to try and be there for them and help with any Islamic struggles. And I don’t really want to be too full-on and act like I’m a perfect Muslim when I’m not. My question is, do you think it’s is allowed in Islam to mention something I’m struggling with which may be a sin (in confidentiality) to this person as we are told that all sins will be forgiven except those that are exposed? And would the fact that I have dealt with my struggles and it is a past issue make it better? I want them to be able to relate and I don’t want them to feel alone and struggling especially as they don’t have many Muslim friends.

Hey sounds like you got a predicament this is my opinion and I'm not a scholar or anything but id say in cases where your exposing ur sins it kinda depends on intention like for example if a muslim guy is boasting oh i smoked this and did this in a way to make it seem like that action is something good then ofc thats wrong, but with you it seems like your genuinely trying to help your friend which i think should be fine id say be careful with how you tell them in the sense you dont want it to come off as wat u are doing is okay clarify its a sin to this friend but mention that sins can be forgiven “The one who repents from sin is like one who did not sin.”

This second link is the closest thing i could find its about someone exposing a guys sin in a dignified way to protect others
