Scottish Home Fee Status for UK nat in Spain

I am applying for Edinburgh university Sept 2024. I am a UK national born in Scotland and lived 10 years until moving with parents to Spain where we were registered as residents before 2020. I intend to return to Scotland at end of June 2024 and live in my family's apartment. Will I be eligible for Home fee status. I have looked at the UKCISA Web site and the law simply says I need to be resident in Scotland by 1st August.
You are best checking with SAAS directly. They have a tool that indicates what funding you maybe entitled to. It will also be worth confirming with each Uni what they consider your fee status to be before firming any offer.

Unfortunately Scottish universities will not discuss fee status until you have applied. However it appears that my situation is governed by a specific part of the education act Scotland which states I will be a home student providing I am living in UK before the 1st August 2024. This is only available for students like me until 2028 when it closes. It was adopted to allow children who had moved to EU before Brexit to have time to finish their education and return as home students to Scotland hence why it finishes in 2028 when all UK nationals in EU will become international students.
