making friends as an adult is hard

I am graduating this winter but will be finishing uni (masters) this month and have a job lined up. Since starting uni I drifted away from school friends, friends I made during my undergraduate I'm drifting away from now, and during my masters I barely had enough time to get close to anyone. Geographically, anybody I would call a friend has moved city for work or to go back home so it feels like I'm starting my first real job alone and I want to make friends I can meet up with regularly without having to spend a week planning transport and days off.

From what I've heard, the team I will be working with will be based around the country with only a few in the same office as me. There will be other teams in the same office but I'm not confident I will be able to socialise well with them since most will be WFH and only in the office 1-2X a week.

I looked into joining some clubs but I can't find any in my city that I'm interested in or think people my age/stage of life will be going to.

I'm sure other people feel the same way and there's a bunch of graduates in office jobs in a new city looking to socialise but I have no idea how to find them? Any tips?
Hey. I’m in a similar situation. Feel free to pm me, and we can become friends .
