Tuition fee entitlement

Hi,

If you are not in attendance and don’t register, don’t attend university and only do the work for exams in your own time during a resit year period where you weren’t entitled to student finance or liable to any tuition fees does this count as a year of study?

I’ve seen on some university sites that student finance don’t classify this as a year of previous study, is this correct?
