Do you have to quit your job for uni holidays?

This is gonna sound like a stupid question (probably bc it is lmao) but when you have a part-time job during uni, what happens when the holidays start and you go home? Do you just quit working or does it mean you can only take temporary jobs?
Speak to your employer, the likelihood is you have 2 options:

Ask for unpaid leave, guaranteeing your job when you come back

Resign and apply to jobs when you return

A couple of other options

3. See if your employer has a transfer scheme. Some chain stores will transfer you to the nearest store in your home area and you work there for the vacations, and then transfer back in term time.
4. Don't go home for the holidays, but stay working and just take a few days leave to go home.

It really all depends what job, what contract, what location, where home is, how much you need the money etc.

Completely forgot about a transfer and obviously as @threeportdrift says, it all depends on the job.

If you work for big supermarket/retail firms, the majority have temporary & permanent transfer schemes.
