Gay relationships in sixth form/college

So I've known I've been gay for quite a while now, and this whole time I have never actually had a talking stage/relationship that has been initiated irl, only online (what I mean by ''online'' is someone that I have met online and then went onto meet with irl).. Has anyone else experienced this? It's frustrating to see heterosexual people have their teenage romances throughout secondary school, and now even more in sixth form, which has disappointed me as I assumed that starting sixth form would be a breath of fresh air - expecting a lot of opportunities to finally experience my own ''teenage romance'' as a gay person.

I'm hoping this finds the right people who will share some thoughts on this, and/or people that have experienced their gay teenage romance.
