Look at the international qualifications page and see what they say specifically about India and academic requirements. The International team will be aware of the relative academic strength of graduates from most of the principle institutions.

If people have gone to Cambridge previously, from your institution, and they have performed well, then it isn't an issue. It is ore of a challenge if there have been no prior students at Cam and therefore the academic standard is unknown. You could try to speak to the International Office.

Otherwise, if you meet the academic requirements, you have to apply and see.
