What are the chances I get the offer from Imperial for Computing?

I wouldn't look too deeply. The last lot of admissions tests are taking place on the 16th of Feb so after processing those applicants, they will then sift into the remaining applications who they haven't rejected and offer interviews to those people (subject to availability of places and them deeming said candidate good enough).

Wow ok. This makes everything much more tense now lol
And also, you know how imperial publishes stats every year based on the trend in terms of how many people with a percentage range gets interviews and offers, so like 60-70, 70-80, 80-90, etc. The part that confuses me is like if someone got lets say 8/10, would he fall in the range 70-80 or 80-90 as both ranges contain the score 80, or 60-70 or 70-80 if 7/10, since it’s hard to predict which range I am. And also, for my test, 9 questions were 1 mark multiple choice but the other question had fill the blanks in so there were 7 blanks I think. Fill the blanks based on graph observation. So for me, does that mean the test is out of 16 then or is it still out of 10 if each blank is worth 1 mark or smth and it makes percentage conversions easier.

Furthermore, since this is February half term, r they still gonna send interview invites this week, or is the admissions office or smth on a break for the whole week.

Admissions offices don't close except for Christmas.
Even if I got all the blanks correct which I’m sure I did, if I got 7/10, would I be in the 60-70 or 70-80 range as well as 50-60 or 60-70 if 6/10, since between these specific ranges, the interview probability chances change significantly at a high extent change. It’s a very unclear part

I think the score calculator is based off the difficulty of the question you got correct. If you got the "harder" questions correct, you'll score more than getting the easier questions right I think.

How does that exactly work tho, I mean how do we know which questions are harder and which ones are easier???

Where did u get that info from anyways cos I thought each question is weighted equally for sure.

Yeah I think that as well. About the many parts to one question, I have a feeling that it gets graded as a fractional point. Like getting 0.6 points for the question or something since it probably has to be out of 10. Don’t know for sure though

Well, some questions were harder than others so it's my own assumptions. I have no clue and the only people that have any clue is the admissions tutors.

That's basically what I said but mine was in terms of whole numbers.
Hi All,
I am yet waiting to hear after taking the online admissions test in 3rd week of October. Does no news mean rejection or do I still have a chance until the last interview date.

Has anyone received any rejections for the computer science course.

@vnayak May I know if you offer was a conditional offer, for MEng and BEng.

Don't worry if you haven't heard back yet. The fact that you haven't been rejected suggests that you show merit on your application but not enough to give you an interview straight off the bat. After processing the last set of applicants from the admissions test taking place tomorrow, they will start to look at more applications like yours so that they can fill the remaining places. The final interview date is the 28th of February so if you don't receive an interview invite by 22nd February, there is a high chance you get rejected (since Imperial usually gives 6 days at the very least to prepare though I got 3 weeks!) but you must still keep hope! You never know. When the interview comes round (if it does), make sure you impress! I got asked two technical questions at the end of mine and one of them was a bit shaky - I had the answer on the board but failed to spot it- and for the other one, I got the answer without ANY prompts through a method which my interviewer didn't consider, which I think helped my case. I also had some interesting personal statement related questions which I answered very well I think (though in hindsight I could have been a lot more technical) and my interviewer was really impressed at this.

There have been quite a few people receiving CS rejections (I have seen 3 or 4 threads floating about on this website and since offers have been handed out, I'm sure that there may have been some rejections too. However, the rejections I've seen (in my own friends etc.) are all JMC rejections.

My offer was indeed a conditional offer (since I'm applying with predicted grades. Unconditional offers are usually reserved to applicants applying with achieved grades so it's highly unlikely that I would receive an unconditional from such a reputable university as Imperial). I have to achieve A*AAA in my A levels of Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Computer Science with the A star in Maths. As part of the offer, I also have to sit the STEP II and obtain a grade 2. This is standard offer requirements so I'm chuffed with this.

As for the degree I went for, I went for the Bachelor's at every uni I applied to because I can always change my mind if need be within the first two years while on the course. Additionally, Imperial doesn't care about the degree program you apply to - they group all of the applicants together from all CS courses into one pool and then selectively choose candidates from that. I want to go into cybersecurity but I first want a taste of everything before jumping aboard a certain MEng specialism only for me to end up not liking it.

Also, I plan to do an MSc rather than an MEng (which I really want to pursue at Oxford! I just love the city and everything to do with it but I applied to Cambridge for undergrad because our school has better success with Cambridge than Oxford. Got rejected but I got Imperial so my mentality is that it's their loss).
JMC rejections for entry to september 2024(this year), how is that possible?

Thank you for your detailed reply really appreciate. Fingers crossed about my application.
Has anyone here got an interview invite for cs on 28th Feb, and does anyone know when the last date for them to send cs interview invites is, and is there gonna be more interviews for home applicants on early march by any chance

I think that the least amount of time they can give you is 6 days. I don't think that they will go into March. I asked them about interview dates a while ago and these are the dates for interview:
interviewdates.jpg
As you can see, there are 8 interview dates. At each interview, I would say that there are around 75 people (mixture of JMC and CS applicants), which comes to a total of 600 interviewees. I don't think they will continue into March but if you have the doubts, you should ask them. Email them.

ah ok thanks, but earlier on before when u said people got JMC rejections, right? Like for people applying this year for sept 2024 entry to JMC, did people actually get a UCAS rejection from Imperial for JMC, so did ucas tell them they were rejected before the final interview date

Yes.

Wow, that’s crazy, I mean how did they get ucas rejections from jmc this year when the final interview dates aren’t even arrived yet, wow. Not that this should matter to me but do u know when they got jmc rejections on ucas for 2024, like which month at when, cos obviously I still haven’t heard anything and I haven’t been rejected yet which is a possibility but still, not being over stressed yknw. Also, for jmc ucas rejections, they weren’t for deferred entry right, so for those people who applied in sept-oct 2022. Apologies for the questions btw, it’s just anxiety yk
