Distance Learning Centre

Hello! I am about to apply for an access course with the distance learning centre. but i'm not sure if ARU Cambridge will accept it.

I am hoping to study Children's nursing and would like to apply for the access course. I asked on the open day and wasn't given a straight answer. I asked again over email and over the phone but received no answer. has ANYONE got this answer?

thank you  and happy new year

I like how to uni is so helpful with your questions.

The following is the course page for child nursing:
https://www.aru.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/nursing-child
According to the the Nursing and Midwifery Council, it's also an accredited course (kind of important if you want to become a nurse): https://www.nmc.org.uk/education/approved-programmes/

In the entry requirements section of the course (https://www.aru.ac.uk/study/undergraduate/nursing-child#entry_requirements), you would see the entry requirements for Access to HE diplomas:
"Pass in Access to HE Diploma accepted 9 level 3 credits at Distinction and 21 level 3 credits at Merit are required. Applicants should also have GCSE Maths and English at C grade or above or National Literacy and Numeracy level 2."

Nursing degrees typically don't require specific subjects and the requirements for the Access diploma likewise reflect that i.e. you can do an Access course in any subject and you should still get in. You can check with the ARU if you're not sure (if you can get through)
