Re: homepage. I miss the list of threads that were the most recently posted in. I also miss the menu on the homepage with my watched forums which was an incredibly helpful shortcut to the forums which I keep an eye on. I can just put them on the bookmarks but I'd like for the watched forums widget to come back sooner rather than later
Hi @Scotland Yard you should still be able to see all recently posted in threads, in the 'Latest' widget (in the right sidebar on desktop or beneath the personalised feed on mobile).
We're updating the watched forums functionality to work in the same way as it did before - hoping to get this live today. It will show in the 'Watching' widget under the Topics tabs.

A few minutes ago I had an interstitial advert appear that was NOT obviously an advert. It had 8 links to search for various student related things (in a 2 x 4 grid where the cell the mouse was hovering over highlighted in red). Looking at my browser status bar I think the destination was generalsearch but I'm not entirely sure (the TSR advert cycling removed it reasonably quickly).
I think this is actually pretty concerning (it looked plausibly enough TSR at first glance that I was going to comment on its appearance in the thread).
I would never click on a link like that if I realised it was an advert.
Edit: Had one appear again: it's generalsearch.net

Hi,
Could you let me know where this advert was on the page and maybe take a screenshot when it appears again? This will help us identify it and address this issue

I just had it again - generalsearch.net. This time it was the "bottom interstitial" and was 'ribbon sized' so only a 2x2 grid. In that form it was more obviously an advert.
TSR cycles the adverts too fast for me to be able to get a screenshot.
@Evil Homer - I'm sure you can investigate in more detail than me, but I "volunteered as tribute" and followed a couple of links in a private browser.
They basically send you to a "link farm" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Link_farm) - I didn't immediately get sent to a malware site but it definitely felt link I'd gone somewhere shady. I don't think you should continue to take adverts from this company.

No we won't , just need to find the provider so we can block 🙂 Will keep an eye out!
As I posted above, the initial address is generalsearch.net - surely it's not too hard to find which adverts contain that specific string as an HTML link?
Here's a full link (it had a lot of tildes which were getting treated as markdown strikethroughs, so I've replaced them with @ signs. There were no @ signs in the original link, so you can just globally change them back to tildes. Hopefully the underbars don't cause any issues.
[It should be said, now I know what they look like, it's "obvious" it's not TSR, but the first time, in the middle of a rebrand with changed UI was a lot less obvious].
Thanks. we've added generalsearch.net to our blocklist - fingers crossed that sorts it. It may take an hour or so to propogate, but if you see it after then again, then please do let us know.
the colours are interesting and yes it will take a while to get used to. also in my opinion, i would have preferred if the notification bar was light purple instead of dark - but i don't know if that would have ruined the colour scheme!! think i still have more to explore but not bad so far
The new UI is terrible too look at. Everything is very garish. I also don't see what the new icon (the squiggly S thing) has to do with being a student. Also bring back neg rep and the old school emojis!

I'm still seeing generalsearch.net adverts (just now, so significantly more than an hour since you posted).
Also, somethings gone wrong with usernames - I'm not seeing your name/details in the post I'm replying to, and your quoted username is coming up as undefined.
@ChrisN (tagging you as I'm not sure what's going on with user names right now).
also i dont know why the give rep feature is even on there if you actually can't give rep?
You should be able to give rep by clicking on the thumbs-up icon in the post you want to rep.
TSR has always required that you don't just repeatedly rep the same small group of people. I think it's changed, but the message used to be "please rate some other member before giving reputation to this member" and the abbreviation PRSOM is still often used to indicate "I would have repped you but TSR wouldn't let me".
- I need to refresh the page at least twice to be able to click or send messages, replies or quotes. - It's difficult to distinguish between read and unread messages; is anyone else facing the same problem?
Really like the color scheme though, it's sharp and vibrant!
