IB retake or A-level crammer year?

I'm in Year 11 of IB and the school has decided to stop doing the IB curriculum in the next few years. All our support for this curriculum seems to have stopped and I'm worried that I'm not going to do well enough to get into a good uni. I want to study Politics and International Relations at a Russel Group university.

If I don't do well in my IBs in the end, would you advise retaking them at a different college over a year? Or switching and do an A-level crammer year (I would do English, History and Economics which I'm really good at). Which option would universities prefer?
