Maintenance Loan for Sick Migrant Workers on Year Abroad
Hello, I'm a migrant worker with pre-settled status currently receiving a maintenance loan during my second year at uni. I have become sick and I'm still receiving the maintenance loan as I have sick notes to prove I can't work. Next year, I have the option to do a year abroad somewhere outside of the UK. My circumstances regarding my health are unlikely to change anytime soon so I'm expecting my GP to continue to issue me sick notes over the next year or so. Given my circumstances and immigration status, am I eligible for maintenance loan for the year abroad?

Migrant Worker students lose their eligibility if they are abroad and not in the UK. You would only be eligible to study abroad if it was an EU parent/family member who is the Migrant Worker and remains in the UK while you are studying abroad.
