Student Loan after previous drop out

Hiyaa

Super simple question but I can find an answer online. Due to previous studies I wont be able to get one year of student loan during a course I want to apply for.

My question is which year would that be? Do I get to choose it or no.

Thanks!
Hi there Student Finance uses this calculation to work out how much Tuition Fee funding you have left:

New course length + Additional Year Previous study years = entitlement.

If you do not have enough entitlement left to fund the full course, for example if you have 2 years left but are on a 3 year course, then the first year of Tuition Fee would be blocked. You do not get to choose the years, it would always be blocked for the first year/s.

If you could not complete your course year due to personal reason, you may be able to receive an additional year of funding if you provide evidence of this. The evidence depends on your personal circumstances. More information can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/going-back-to-uni-or-repeating-a-year

Thanks, Leah.
