Lincoln Uni/ Media Production

I applied about 2 weeks ago to the Media Production course at Lincoln and really really REALLY want to get on it. Is anyone currently doing that course there now? What's it like? and how hard is it to get onto?

I got an A and 3 C's at A level and the A was in media production..do you think that will improve my chances?..or will the C's make it a lot harder? Because someone on here said about not knowing anyone who was doing that course who didn't get all A's and B's.

Haha im freaking out!
Can anyone put my mind at rest?
please
thanks

I have applied around the same time as you, I'm on BCCEe :frown:

The bit about the grades is utter balls, I know two people there this year who got in with 250 and 230 points respectively... so there's hope
I know quite a lot of people on the Media Production course, and the bright ones are the ones who want to put the effort in and in TV units of teams of 12-15 become the directors, producers etc. - but then you get the ones through clearing, or ones that just aren't there to work - and they're the camera operators/lighting/sound who do a half-arsed job and don't prove anything. Be smart enough to prove that you can do it.

Try your hardest to get in, and prove yourself - the entry requirements is to show who's competent and actually has a relative drive to be successful.

Sorry to be nosey, but does that mean that people are assigned roles at Lincoln, rather than being able to specialise properly and select their own?

When we went on the tour we were told you're put in groups and you just take the job you want or are best at. So I don't think that's true, more the 'clever' people just take the jobs that require less grunt work.
