You think people in skins aren't conformist? :-S

No, it's not depressing.

Do you think all other teenagers who don't spend their teen years up to their 17th birthday studying, learning classical music on instruments, going to chess clubs and just 'generally conforming' act like the teens on skins? Have those kind of nights out? Act like that in college?...

Haha, well maybe you should have got out more then? :p:
Is The Fast and the Furious depressing for those who never learned to drive?

Load of rubbish. Its the same as Hollyoaks surely?
its so unrealistic noone does that anyway.
the students "grab life by the balls"
Maybe for the short sighted people who have spent their past 17 years neeking it out (chess club is not 'conforming' - wtf?), Skins could be perceived as depressing.....

"I want to be a young drugface like X on skins"
"I want to be a thug like Y off skins"
"Meh, I just want to be a big ol' drunken slut :h:"

However, the slightly more realistic people will be able to see that spending your teen years running in and out of clubs, coked up like crazy, will NOT get you the grades, and they're what is most important.

If everyone who went out often acted like the people in Skins, I'd be seriously worried for my/their lives, amongst other things :p:

skins is as unrealistic as student life gets....well this season is anyway

Skins is a totally ridiculous over the top portrayal of teenage life, that's why people watch it. If it was just a load of kids studying and stuff no one would watch it so it has to have that element of fantasy about it.

Also it's just embarrassing when people try and copy skins/think their life is like it.

A) The latest series of Skins is extremely unrealistic, and no one lives their life like that at all.

B) Each person wants something different from life, and it's up to you to decide what you want. Some would rather be out partying and drinking and not do work, and as such not get into a top university, whereas others would rather put that bit of effort in now for two years and get the A-Levels they need to go to the university they want and then be pleased they achieved something with their life rather than wasting it away.

C) Irrespective of how you spend your life, whether it's socialising or studying, you shouldn't care what others think. The most important thing is that you're content with your life.
Skins isn't that unrealistic.

Hear me out. Of course I don't spend my whole life like that- although I know people that do- but then it isn't a 24/7 Big Brother type show. It's highlighting certain days/nights in the life of a group of teenagers. I know some people who have such hedonistic lives that they don't bother with college- at least the kids in Skins make it that far.

The only completely over-the-top thing in the last episode was Pandora eating that load of drugs. Anyone who swallowed that amount of that mix would have been seriously, seriously ill pretty soon. Especially for their first time.

Asking people on an internet forum if they think Skins is unrealistic won't produce particularly surprising results.

Sometimes I find it a bit depressing that certain people at my college seem to have a better social life than I do.
But then, I get straight As, and they don't, so you win some you lose some right? I'll get into uni, and then I'll do more partying there :] Since I moved to my sixth-form from another school it's been very cliquey and I don't really like that many people anyway though, so I'd rather get into Warwick and have fun there instead!
I don't find Skins depressing because to me it seems highly unrealistic.
How does skins seem that unrealistic? It's basically about sex, drugs and parties. All of which are a regular occurrence around my age group/college. ^_^
If I thought Skins was representive of most people, then yes.

But it isn't so I'm fine with it.
I wouldn't want to live like that...tbh I don't even really like the program- one episode was enough to put me off for life!
