Nature of an event? How to ans..

It comes to my notice that there're some pasptpaper questions asking bout nature of an event. like russian 1917 Revolution etc.
I am doing Edexcel.

Does anyone know how to answer this kind of questions?

One more thing.. how many words do you usually write in exams when attempting an A? like within an hour, or sometimes 55mins, or one and a half.

Didn't do Edexcel so can't really answer the first question, but as for the second one, your grade does not depend on how much you write. If you waffle, you are not going to make a high mark. If you write succinctly, they are going to be much more impressed. But you'll have to include relevant details, and don't make too much generalisations.

I did AQA for GCSE history and OCR for A-Level I think...or was it both AQA? Anyway, for essays we were told usually 3 - 4 sides is enough, depending on your handwriting.
